Specialty Building Products is looking for a Regional Operations Performance Manager for our Mid-Atlantic Region to improve how work is completed. This role works directly with Divisional VPs, Regional Directors, Branch Managers, Operations Managers, supervisors, and front-line employees to put company standards into practice, lead improvement projects, support local leaders, and improve service, productivity, quality, and cost. Success in this role depends on building strong working relationships, keeping projects organized, using data to solve problems, and making sure new processes continue after the project is complete.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional projects, improvement meetings, and problem-solving efforts.
  • Put company operations-improvement programs into place and adjust the rollout for each location while maintaining required company standards.
  • Review warehouse, transportation, manufacturing, inventory, and office processes to find delays, unnecessary work, and opportunities to improve.
  • Create and put in place clear work procedures, visual tools, daily operating reviews, labor plans, and regular performance checks.
  • Work with local leaders to improve warehouse layout, product flow, picking, staging, loading, inventory accuracy, and employee productivity.
  • Create clear project plans, schedules, assigned actions, and methods to track results.
  • Review operating measures and financial results, determine what is causing problems, and develop practical action plans.
  • Help branch leaders and supervisors maintain new processes, review results, and make sure teams follow agreed-upon standards.
  • Coordinate work among Operations, Sales, Transportation, Technology, Safety, HR, Finance, and other support teams.
  • Work with the Operations Performance Strategy Team to develop practical standards, tools, and resources that branches can use.
  • Raise major risks, roadblocks, staffing or resource needs, and decisions to the Director of Operations Performance Execution and the Regional Director.
  • Document methods that work well and share feedback with the Strategy Team to improve company tools, standards, and training.
  • Support branch openings, site consolidations, acquisitions, new-system rollouts, and other major operational changes as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • At least five years of increasing responsibility in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or operations across multiple locations.
  • Experience leading improvement projects that produced measurable results.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data using Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools is preferred.
  • Ability to build support and work effectively with executives, managers, supervisors, and front-line employees, even when they do not report directly to this role.
  • Ability to meet the position's travel requirements, 50-70%, including overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training or certification in process improvement.
  • Familiarity with practical improvement methods such as clear work procedures, workplace organization, visual tools, process mapping, and root-cause problem solving.
  • Experience with building-material distribution, door manufacturing, warehouse management systems, ERP systems, routing, or fleet operations.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities or regions.
  • Formal training in project management, leading change, or running group meetings.
