POSITION SUMMARY
Lead, supervise and coordinate the activities of the warehouse.
Take ownership of the inventory from receipt to delivery to the shop and the docks.
Lead the pullers, receivers, cycle counters and order pickers.
• Enforce safety procedures and policies and ensure a safe work environment free of hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and other government agencies.
• Ensure co-workers are following safety rules and are demonstrating safe working behavior.
• Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads. Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
• Transmit and explain work orders to pickers, pullers and receivers.
• Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
• Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
• Prepare and maintain work records and reports of information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, and inspection results.
• Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate or bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Logistics, industrial engineering or operations management
Experience: 3+ years supervisory/leadership experience with 5+ years related warehouse experience.
Computer Skills: General Computer Knowledge required including the use of the internet, excel, access, a Warehouse management system (WMS), scanner and e-mail.
Certificates & Licenses: Forklift operator certification, Reach Truck and order Picker experience
Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license required. Safe driver history/record required for insurance and liability reason.
