Specialty Building Products is currently looking for an Application Development Manager to join our VALUES based organization with a strong background in managing and leading development teams in a Microsoft Azure, SQL and Office 365 environment. The Application Development Manager will have a strong background in managing, mentoring, and leading development teams. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills and a comprehensive understanding of the .NET software development lifecycle, programming languages, and software engineering principles.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Lead and manage a team of software developers to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performing business solutions, showcasing your adaptability in varying project needs and team dynamics.
- Ensure the successful design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications within Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, and Office 365.
- Define, drive, and manage the full software development lifecycle, including the selection and use of appropriate methodologies, tools, and technologies, demonstrating strategic thinking in aligning technology with business objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements, leveraging your ability to function well under pressure.
- Develop and implement effective strategies for application architecture that align with business goals, proving your strategic thinking.
- Use Agile methodologies to manage and deliver projects on time and within budget, exhibiting your ability to adapt to different project management frameworks and work well under tight deadlines.
- Manage and prioritize project and team workload to ensure timely and quality delivery, demonstrating your ability to strategically allocate resources and tasks.
- Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices, reflecting your adaptability to maintain high-quality standards in a rapidly changing technology environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing and leading a team of at least 5+ developers.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience developing within the Microsoft development stack.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and .NET software development lifecycle.
- Proven experience with Azure tools and services such as Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure DevOps, Data Factory, SQL Server, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Apps.
- Proficient understanding of programming languages such as C#, React, JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, C++.
- Hands-on experience with software development tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Jira.
