U.S. LUMBER is currently looking for a Material Handler for loading, unloading, sorting, staging, transporting and otherwise handling products that come into and move out of the warehouse.
In this role you will focus on:
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Safely operate Combilift, forklifts or other machinery (chainsaw) in order to complete
assigned tasks including loading and unloading, moving, staging, pulling orders
and transporting material. - Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
- Maintains condition of Warehouse work area, e.g. free of trash, product in correct
location and organized, swept floors. - Work cooperatively and productively with Supervisors and other employees in
order to complete required work load. - Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers by maintaining attention to
detail, accuracy, quality and completing assigned work in a timely manner. - Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track and trace issues.
- Follow U.S. Lumber safety policies and procedures and encourage others to do
the same. This includes performing daily forklift safety checklists. - Reading and understanding tickets and the various codes for products
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Accurately pull daily orders.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management
Qualifications – A qualified candidate will:
- Safely operate forklift and other machinery
- Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required.
- Band, wrap, tape product
- Maintain work area and be organized
- Responding to public address system announcements, directions from supervisors and managers, warning alarms from other forklift drivers
- Walking and carrying merchandise
- Great attention to detail and accuracy - be able to stand and work on your feet throughout shift as normal routine
- Identify and read tickets, SKU’s, UPC labels and reports
- Follow all safety procedures
- Work in a team environment
- Be able to bend, stoop, reach, twist, squat, push, pull, move, and lift to 50lbs
- Other duties may be assigned
