U.S. Lumber, an SBP brand is currently hiring for a Warehouse Supervisor for our Altoona, PA branch, operating out of Bellwood, PA. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing an operations team responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and staging of materials for shipment, including inbound and outbound shuttles of material locally. Expect this role to work cooperatively with other branch leaders, and to be the senior leader and decision maker on dayshift in the Bellwood warehouse on behalf of the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Distribution Warehouse Process Control – responsible for the leading a team of warehouse associates and material handlers to fulfill customer orders of building materials.
- Ensures the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, including product cleanliness and proper labeling.
- Ensures that all warehouse associates are working in a safe manner with the needed tools and equipment.
- Responsible for addressing any safety violations, and reports accidents to branch leadership.
- Oversees the daily receiving processes: unloading of incoming freight, receiving of inventory, processes all related documentation, data entry and labeling.
- Responsible for execution of the customer returns processing including inspection, restocking, and system adjustments.
- Participates in the oversight of shuttle process for materials between the Bellwood PA and Claysburg PA location, including picking, packing, staging, loading and shipping as necessary.
- Oversees the serviceability and inspection paperwork for the forklifts.
- Addresses any maintenance concerns with Branch Management and/or the company’s forklift service provider.
- Order Fulfillment - Ensures that pick files are distributed to warehouse associates smartly.
- Monitors the work progress of warehouse associates to ensure that orders are processed and filled in a timely manner, quality checked, and properly wrapped and staged for loading.
- Ensures that Customer Pick-up orders are printed and fulfilled.
- Expected to assist warehouse associates with the execution of their job responsibilities when necessary. Must achieve and maintain forklift certification.
- Work Flow - Manages the flow of work orders and work product through the workday to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and accuracy of the warehouse associates.
- Responsible for all appropriate transactions in Agility, including sales order release and resolution, material receiving and adjustments, substitutions (re-man), etc.
- Performs cycle counts as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items.
- Requires the ability to frequently lift more than 50 lbs.
- Requires moving around the warehouse to assist others or moving merchandise themselves.
- Identify and read tickets, SKU’s, UPC labels and reports.
- Requires recognizing, identifying and using merchandise and necessary reports.
- Gripping used to operate machinery or hand tools
- Working on uneven working surfaces, including working in variable weather conditions and temperatures (warehouse includes outdoor storage spaces).
- Sharp and/or rough edges will typically be encountered
Required credentials: - Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 4 years’ related experience in distribution or building materials environment.
- 2 years of leadership experience.
- High School diploma.
- Must have basic math and analytical skills, and familiarity with Microsoft suite.
- Must pass the required pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Flexible with scheduling.
- Successfully complete any required training or orientation programs.
- Experience with Agility preferred.
